First of all, Srisaila Mallikarjuna Suprabhatam – ‘Suprabhatam‘ is the first and foremost pre-dawn seva performed in the temple of Lord Mallikarjuna Swami in Srisailam. However, This ritual is to wake up the Lord from His celestial sleep, amidst the rhythmic chanting of vedic hymns. Every day in the early hours acharyapurushas recite the hymns in front of the main deity.

Firstly, Srisaila Mahakshetram is the living embodiment of ancient and spiritual-cultural traditions and values. Visited by many great saints like Adi Shankaracharya, rulers mainly Sri Krishna Devaraya, Chatrapathi Sivaji and several other spiritual personalities. Temple entrance It is significant to the Hindu sects of both Shaivam as this temple is referred to as one of the twelve Jyothirlingas of Lord Shiva. Here Parvati is worshiped as “Mallika” and Shiva is worshipped as “Arjuna”, represented by the lingam.

Srisailam is an abode of Sri Bhramaramba sametha Mallikarjuna Swamy who are reformations of Shakthi and Shiva respectively. Srisailam is in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh. It is 16.0833 North and 78.8667 East. Srisailam is very ancient and no historical evidence is available about the origin of Srisailam. But by Hindu mythology, we can say that Srisailam is discovered before Satyayuga.

Srisaila Mallikarjuna Suprabhatam

First of all know about Suprabhatam. This is a Sanskrit prayer of the Suprabhātakāvya genre. It is a collection of hymns or verses recited early morning to awaken the deity in Hinduism. The metre chosen for a Suprabhātam poem is usually Vasantatilaka.

In pther words, The most well-known Suprabhātam work is the Veṅkaṭeśasuprabhātam recited to awaken the deity Venkateswara. A rendition of the poem by renowned Carnatic vocalist M. S. Subbulakshmi is extremely popular which is played daily in many homes and temples (especially Tirumala Tirupati) in the wee hours of morning.
